Client Critiques
We purchased this monitor when we brought our preemie daughter dwelling from the hospital so we could visual see her oxygen and heart rate monitor. The video is extremely clear, and works wonderfully at night. The sound is exceptionally clear. We have utilized the Graco digital with our to begin with son and went thru three of them from the sound going out and battery dying. Extremely impressed at how nicely the unit transmits, specifically considering that we live in an apartment. No interference at all. THe only problem we have had is that soon after four nights the LED light on the reciever died and you could not see the image hardly at all. Summer replaced it and we've had no issues additional. I would extremely suggest this item.
We purchased the Summer Infant "Night and Day" handheld monitor when our baby was born (I'll get around to how this relates to the "Secure Sight" method you are expecting to read about). Around the 8 month mark the sound started to "go" ... we'd see the 'red' but wouldn't hear something. Since the monitor was less than 1 year old I contacted Summer Infant customer assistance, and was told that if I could prove my handheld was purchased less than 1 year ago they would replace it with the "Secure Sight" handheld monitor. (for some reason they wouldn't send a new "Night and Day", and FYI: save your receipt!). Before agreeing to the trade I checked it out and saw that the Secure Sight unit itself was/is additional streamlined than the "Night and Day" model, but noticed the value was a bit much less. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to the swap. We set it up and I couldn't be additional disappointed. The picture isn't practically as sharp as the "Night and Day", it really is a step above poor and I can barely distinguish my baby from the crib mattress. With the Night and Day I could really see his breathing if I wanted to - with the Secure Sight it really is far more like searching at a fuzzy shape of what's most likely my infant.
Second, the power cord is rather brief compared to the "Night and Day" and we have to use an extension cord to make it to the outlet (we did not require an extension cord with the "Night and Day"). Recommendation: pay the additional $30 for the "Night and Day" if you are thinking of either of these, or even far better... save your self the difficulty altogether by avoiding them each. I've never written a item review ahead of this 1, but sincerely hope it helps a couple of folks with their choice.
