We bought this monitor couple weeks ago and so far we are quite pleased with it. When we initially set it up it interfered with our residence phone and it was incredibly static,but then we just altered the channel on the monitor and now it is quiet and no interference. It's nice to watch my infant although she sleeps and nice to hear her by way of the monitor if i am in the kitchen. The small Tv could be battery operated as well,if you have to take it with you someplace (i take it downstairs to the laundry space,or it really is nice to have by when i'm gardening while my daughter is napping). I highly suggest it to everybody!
One thing though,it does not "check" baby's breathing,like some other monitors do.
I received this as a gift for my second infant. I was not really sure if it was some thing I certainly "required", but we borrowed the monitor we'd used for our first baby, so we required a thing, and considering that we had been offered this, I figured I would try it out.
My son is 11 weeks old and I have been using this considering that the third night he was dwelling from the hospital. I could not get any sleep w/ him in our room, and out of desperation put him in his crib in his personal space that third night. I hooked up the monitor and loved the truth that I could see him as nicely as hear him.
I did have to adjust the channel to "C" instead of "A" considering of interference, but as soon as I adjusted it, there has been minimal interference.
My only complaint is that the volume is rather loud, even on the lowest setting. I just have to have to barely be in a position to hear him due to the fact I sleep so lightly now that I have babies in the residence. And the lowest setting for this is just too loud. I even taped over the volume holes on the bottom of the unit, but it did not assist substantially.
Even so, it makes no difference to us now, considering that we just leave the sound off during the night, having just the video portion on. It functions nicely for me since I can hear him if he begins fussing, and can see no matter if he is in need to have of me obtaining out of bed or am I just hearing him fuss for a minute and go back to sleep. I love it. It has saved me a lot of trips of finding in and out of bed to check to see if he's breathing or not. I can typically tell by staring at the monitor for a minute or two.
This device does not alert you if the baby stops breathing like some claim to do, but that was the kind of monitor we utilised w/ our first son, and it was, in my opinion, just a gimmick. This is additional trustworthy to me given that I can see him w/ my personal 2 eyes.
I advocate this to anybody who wants a straightforward device to use at night to ease your thoughts, and aid you sleep! :-)
