Consumer Evaluations
I have really had wonderful good results with the function of this item. The camera works in each light and dark circumstances, and the sound is sufficient. That is all I have to say positive about this product. The truth that there was something positive is why I gave it two stars rather of 1. I've noticed other critiques to the contrary, but this is about my encounter.
The negatives are a lot of, and appear to largely be a result of a design team that was focused 100% on form, and not at all on function. I have seen some of these challenges in other reviews, but I feel they are worth repeating.
1) The glowing blue lights. Vibrant adequate to light up a area on both the camera and the monitor. Worse but is that the whole monitor face glows brightly anytime the energy is on, and then blinks like a neon sign when the unit is charging. I solved the camera part with some duct tape, but that was impossible on the monitor so I had to open the unit and shatter the LED. Of course this would void the warranty, but I was sick of shopping for monitors.
two) The battery life and indicator. The battery life is short, and made even shorter with just about every second you have the display turned on. This could be helped by a timed off function on the display, but it doesn't have a single.
three) cord length on camera -- unless your outlets are close to the ceiling, the length of the cord for the camera severely limits exactly where you can location the camera.
four) volume control - when adjusting the volume, the unit beeps, really loudly, every time you press the button. If there is sleeping going on, by everyone in the vicinity, it will almost certainly be interrupted. What is worse is that the beeps are the exact same volume regardless of to what level the volume is set. So what is the objective of the beeps? When the display is on there is a volume level indicator, but when it is off there is no indication of what the volume setting is. But you still have the loud, useless beeps.
5) unstable with cord plugged in -- which is especially unfortunate given that it has to be plugged in so often.
6) pretty loud beep when the battery runs low -- this in fact makes sense, then again I list it as a drawback considering of how regularly it is utilized.
7) no indication for level of battery charge - only complete or empty. This seems apparent to me.
I hope you get this critique valuable.
I absolutely enjoy this monitor! My Sony Child Call monitor was giving me so substantially static, interference and beeping noises that I had to come across something else. I located out my cable enterprise runs on the identical 900 mHz frequency as the Sony monitor, so I decided to buy a digital monitor. I also wanted to peace of thoughts to see my daughter in her crib. What a difference The clarity of sound is so clear, and the screen is plenty big to see my daughter. I also like being able to turn the video screen off, but nonetheless keep the sound on when I go to sleep. The only negative I can think of, is that the blue light on the part with the camera is pretty vivid in the crib, so I just taped a piece of cardboard over it. No difficulty! This monitor is worth every penny!
